Correlation of Glycated Haemoglobin with Protein Carbonyl Content as Biomarkers of Oxidative Stress in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

چکیده
Introduction: Diabetes is chronic disease which characterised by defect in insulin secretion and action leading to hyperglycaemia. Aim: To detect protein carbonyl as oxidative stress marker Type 2 Mellitus (T2DM). Materials Methods: The present cross-sectional study was conducted on 100 subjects (aged 40 70 years) out of 50 were T2DM normal individuals. Serum tested for Fasting Blood Sugar (FBS) Glycated Haemoglobin (HbA1c) Protein Carbonyl Content (PCC). PCC measured spectrophotometric DNPH (dinitrophenylhydrazone) method Reznick AZ Packer L. Results: content, blood sugar HbA1c observed positively correlated type diabetes mellitus the levels PCC, FBS raised compared controls. Conclusion: Increased may be associated with generation oxygen free radicals form carbonyls decreased antioxidants T2DM.

Oxidative stress, an imbalance toward the pro-oxidant side of the pro-oxidant/antioxidant homeostasis, occurs in several human diseases. Among these diseases are those in which high levels of protein carbonyl (CO) groups have been observed, including Alzheimer's disease (AD), rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes, sepsis, chronic renal failure, and respiratory distress syndrome. What relationships mig...
متن کاملAn assessment of correlation between serum asymmetric dimethylarginine and glycated haemoglobin in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
Studies that investigated an association between asymmetric dimethylarginine (ADMA) and glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c) in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) have given discordant results. The aim of this study was to determine and compare serum ADMA concentration in patients with T2DM and healthy controls, and to assess correlation between ADMA and HbA1c in patients with T2DM. Serum ADMA concentrati...
متن کاملStudy of Protein Carbonyl Group, Nitric Oxide and Mda (index of Lipid Peroxidation) as Biomarkers of Oxidative Stress in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
Conclusion: Biomarkers of oxidative stress such as protein carbonyl, NOx (total nitrites) and MDA are significantly increased in type 2 DM compared to healthy subjects. There is increased protein oxidation, lipid peroxidation, and increased conversion of NO. to its end products like nitrite and nitrates in type 2 DM. This suggests that there is increased production of reactive oxygen species (R...
متن کاملInvestigating the Molecular miRNAs as Biomarkers of Type 2 Diabetes
Introduction: Biomarkers would significantly improve the early detection of the disease and identification of individuals at risk of emerging complications. Diabetes mellitus is a group of diverse and complex metabolic disorders. Both type 1 diabetes (T1D) and type 2 diabetes (T2D) mellitus are associated with distinct alterations in the profile of MicroRNAs (miRNAs) in the blood, which are som...
